Matt is the Chief Investment Officer of Participant Capital and leads its Investment Committee. He is responsible for executing the company’s equity and credit investment strategies.
Matt has 22+ years of investing in multi-family, commercial net lease, office and hospitality assets as well as performing and non-performing debt. Prior to joining Participant, Matt was the Chief Investment Officer of ESJ Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in Aventura, FL and Luxembourg.
The first 11 years of his real estate career were with Westminster Capital, Countrywide Commercial Real Estate Finance and KeyBank Real Estate Capital where he specialized in CMBS, Net Lease, Mezzanine and Preferred Equity investments. In addition, Matt founded EducationRE, Inc., a non-profit foundation formed in 2009 to bring lower cost of capital and steel/light concrete modular building designs to private and charter school operators nationwide. Matt graduated from Babson College with a BS in Management and concentrations in Entrepreneurial Studies and Japanese.
